Free pomegrate the self sufficient way

Some tine ago we started to experiment with pomegranate. If you missed it, here's some links to previous posts...

Now it's time to have a good look at the project again.
The seeds in the pot with dirt has the best potential.
I have to separate them, and for a start I make sure that the dirt it's almost soaking wet, and the little plants is not dry.
Now carefully break the dirt apart without destroying the root system.

The root system of pomegranate us a taproot. It means it grows one huge bug root with little hairy baby roots sticking out. Like a carrot for instance.
Plants with taproot system is a bit more difficult to move with success. But at this size it's doable.

I fill up a new pot with fresh dirt, compost and chicken manure, and make a thin deep hole in the middle, where I sink the plant into. Tighten the dirt around the plant and root and water, and set it aside in the window.

The seeds in the kitchen towel isn't doing quite as good, naturally. They are suddenly big and had no "food" just water.
I do the same with those, and set aside.

Now well just have to watch our plant grow and see, what we will end up with :-)
